While sermons, books, conferences and most of the other communication vehicles used by the modern American church have some merit, they have consistently proven to be the least effective means for ushering in change. 220 Life places primary emphasis on small group discipleship or even one-on-one coaching, much like Jesus did with His disciples. Our primary goal is not that you learn new things but that you experience God in new ways!
220 Life Ministries is more of a missional philosophy than a 'brick and mortar' organization. The lack of physical real estate and the associated fiscal responsibilities means that 220 Life is able to focus primarily on the spiritual growth of people. Certainly, the organizational structure of many American churches offers a lot of good however, 220 Life has prayerfully chosen a grass roots strategy similar to that which we see in the first 300 years of the church.
220 Life founder, Jeff McDaniel, spent years in the church pursuing spiritual maturity through traditional means such as the pursuit of a Master of Divinity and a PhD. Through much study and by trial & error, Jeff discovered much of the American system of Christendom was broken. In a desperate desire to imitate Jesus, Jeff shed as much cultural baggage as possible and turned to the grass-roots strategy presented in the scriptures. As a result, he has witnessed spiritual multiplication similar to that in the book of Acts. Jeff will be the first to vehemently proclaim, the secret to a multiplying ministry is not a talented person, it is a surrendered person who simply obeys everything the Spirit commands.
